Rule #1. You are responsible.
To simply exist is not enough. You are not entitled to anything. No one else is responsible for filling your life with continual happiness, an exciting career, great relationships, millions of dollars or nurturing families. Depending on when you were born, this might be a shock. There is only one person responsible for the quality of life you live. YOU.
You have been given the gifts of will, choice and love. You can create your own opportunities. It is up to you to step into your gifts to be successful, happy and fulfilled. That might mean long work days and lots of education. It might mean you can’t go party on weeknights. If you do, know you will pay the price.
This is not easy, but it is the journey of your life and at the very least it makes it all very interesting and ultimately rewarding. Remember you are not alone in this life journey and will meet many people who will happily show you the way or help you along the way.
Be open to the ideas of others and own your own responsibility.
Owning your responsibility will make you an excellent partner, citizen, friend and parent. It will take you to the top.
